SUPPORTING TEACHERS AND THEIR CRITICAL WORK
Few would argue that teaching in urban schools is one of the most challenging and important jobs in America today. Efforts to dramatically improve urban public education require the dedication and sustained energies of a cadre of well-trained teachers. However, finding and retaining qualified and dedicated teachers remains difficult. More can and must be done to ensure that we find, support and retain as many excellent and dedicated teachers as possible, identify ways to keep them feeling energized, motivated, and appreciated, and continually tap them as resources for cutting-edge ideas.
